Jewish Indigenous Alliance Local and Campus Chapters



Local and Campus Chapters for the Jewish Indigenous Alliance are now forming!


Create a community circle where you are under your own leadership and reflecting the values and perspectives of who you are, and where you live- We're Indigenous, telling people what to do, it's not our thing.


There are a few basic principles to work with to keep us all in harmony as an organization and as a Peace movement, otherwise we say for Local and Campus chapters-

Mayim Chayim Focuses on Spiritual Activism, Direct Action and Mutual Aid



The Direct Action Wing of the Jewish Indigenous Alliance, Mayim Chayim was first established in 2016 to support Rav Amashé's Rabbinic mission to Standing Rock.


Mayim Chayim functions as a Jewish Indigenous Tribal Emmisary orgnanization, with active Alliances and Treaties with several Native American Peoples.


Mayim Chayim's primary Treaty partners are the Oglala Sioux, with a special pledge to support the Tokala Warrior and Youth Societies of the Oglala Sioux Nation.

Rav Amashé:
Standing Rock Talks



During Rav Amashé's time at Standing Rock, they came under the mentorship of Chief Leonard Crow Dog, of blessed memory.


During these counsel sessions, while the enormity of the battle of Standing Rock was going on around them, Chief Crow Dog downloaded his perspectives for the future of Indigenous Peoples, including the Jewish people, whose indigeneity he understood and respected deeply- and his blueprint for building a movement for true Peace and Liberation for all of Humanity.


"Build the Central Column of Prayer" he said, meaning to firm the Spiritual base of the movement.


In these Standing Rock Talks, Rav Amashé will share these stories and lessons from Standing rock, interweaving them with current events, into a practical navigational guide for spiritual acitivsm in the World today. Proceeds from these talks will go to support our Treaty obligations with Oglala Lakota Nation.

13 Attributes Spiritual Activism



Every Peace movement needs an underlying spiritual practice designed specifically to navigate the challenges of working toward Peace when working out on the Front Lines for Justice.


The Indigenous Jewish spiritual path provides this for us in the form of the 13 Attributes, a primary covenant of Torah and our oldest directly transmitted spiritual practice.


The 13 Attributes, Jewishly, are our Paths for Peace. How then do we apply these principles and access their living spiritual vibrations when working as spiritual activists in real time on the ground?


It is classic Non-Violence theory, done Jewishly!



Hebrew Medicine WHeel



Like most Indigenous peoples on Earth, the Jewish People have an ancient medicine wheel that is deeply part of the Jewish Tradition.


Repressed intentionally for the safety of the greater Jewish world during times of Christian persecution of Jewish communities, the Hebrew Medicine Wheel continues to live, just below the surface, flowing through the Heart of the Jewish People.


The Hebrew Medicine Wheel has unique characteristics, reflecting the particular natures of Hebraic and Jewish Indigenous Cosmologies, including our understanding of ourselves as both Earthly and Galactic Beings, and the Wheel itself is an intimate part of the ancient Jewish 13 moon Tshuvah Calendar.



Jewish Indigenous Torah



What happens when we look at Torah through a lens de-colonized from Christianity and European cosmologies?


How do we relate to the spiritual autobiographies of the Jewish People that are our Sacred Scriptures, and how do we re-view our spiritual purpose as a people, when we are operating from a place of Freedom and Free Choice in ways that we could not during our great period of Exile.


Indigenous Torah opens up and examines the written Torah, and the ways of Torah, through a de-colonized, modern indigenous Jewish lens.



Jewish Indigenous History



Like "Indigenous Torah", Jewish Indigenous History seeks to re-examine and un-veil Jewish History through a "de-Colonized, modern Indigenous Jewish lens."


Rav Amashé calls this "Jewish Horizontal History" where we look through our indigenous eyes at what we know of our own histories and of our own people- our own lineage driven tribal understandings of who we are and who our people have been in this World...


...and cross apply this with the academic understandings of history, to create a much fuller, nuanced and truthful history of who the Jewish people are, who we have been, and who we are currently growing into. Jewish Indigenous History is the Real Story of the Jewish People.
